Description

Our natural sage hydrolate for animals comes from the species Salvia sclarea. In international practice, the product bears the name Clary Sage natural hydrolate for animals. The flowering stalk is used for the extraction, and linalyl acetate and sclareol are formed and accumulated in the large capitate trichomes on the calyx of the flowers. Systematics places the plant in the Lamiaceae family, in which the aromatic substances accumulate in the flowering aerial mass rather than in the root of the species. The aroma is of medium strength, has an herbal base and leaves a bitter, spicy note at the end. The tone ranges from colorless to slightly yellowish and does not darken in the liquid. The small amount of coloring substances keeps the coloration pale and yellowish. The aqueous base remains clear and homogeneous without sedimented particles. The pure character of the scent comes from steam distillation, as the water retains mainly the polar oxygenated volatile compounds of the whole plant from the plantations. In Bulgaria, the care of the plantations follows natural rules, and chemical agents against pests and mineral fertilizers are completely excluded from practice. The plant material contains no synthetic residues, which is why the stalk character of the liquid manifests itself evenly. The natural composition is free of preservatives and colorants. Among the leading constituents of the aerial mass are linalyl acetate, linalool and caryophyllene, and it is precisely they that set the herbal direction of the distillate. Capitate and peltate glandular trichomes are found on the calyx of the flowers and complement the covering of the inflorescence. The bitter note comes first, while the spicy one lines up behind it. The aerial origin of the sage can be perceived until the very end of the scent.

Application
Sage stalk hydrolate obtained by steam distillation is used in animal care for its soothing and refreshing effect on the skin and coat. The liquid is part of paw cleaning sprays, coat lotions and shampoos for irritations. It is used in balms for coat hydration, in sprays for neutralizing odors in beds and in lotions for care after a walk. It is also applied in sprays for disinfecting surfaces in the pet's home, in ear cleaning wipes, as well as in lotions for sensitive skin. It finds application in compresses for bites, in solutions for paws after mud, as well as in lotions for skin recovery. It is suitable for cage disinfection sprays, for room aerosols, as well as for lotions to relieve itching, leaving the coat of four-legged pets fresh and soft.

Storage

Store natural sage hydrolate in a dark, cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Maintain a temperature of +4°C to +10°C to limit the growth of microorganisms. After opening, use the contents within 6 months and limit the amount of air in the container. Use only aluminum or glass bottles for animal products, preferably dark glass, which protect the hydrolate for animals from light. Close tightly after each use to prevent air and contaminants from entering. Observing these conditions preserves the freshness and quality of the product for a longer period.
